I realized yesterday that I never posted an update on his bladder/urethra tests from last week. Basically he is going to have to keep the suprapubic catheter for several months at least. There is a blockage in the urethra from the damage/tear and scar tissue that will have to be fixed with surgery but they can't do it for at least 4 months (6 months from accident). The good news is that the Urologist said he was very pleased and surprised at how well the bladder has healed!! All praises to GOD!
Please pray for complete healing with his urethra and for the colon/rectum/etc, We are praying the colostomy & catheter will not have to be permanent. Everything in that area sustained a great deal of injury and needs a great deal of healing and prayer.
Everyday we are SO Very thankful for all of the continued prayers and support! We are truly blessed!
The latest on Jason is that he is progressing day by day and we are still at home. Praise God! His follow-up appointments have been going well. Tuesday at the urologist they took out all but one of the drains from his bladder and plugged the 1 he has left in so he can try to urinate through his urethra.
Unfortunately that has not gone as planned. He has not been able to urinate and we think the scar tissue has created a blockage which we knew was a possibility. I have contacted the urologist to see what will have to be done and are waiting to hear back.
We would greatly appreciate prayers for this complication. I am praying for this blockage to resolve on its own.
We are finally going home on Friday! Our case manager at Stallworth is getting everything setup for us, we will have to rent a specialty hospital bed, wheelchair, etc and we will have Vanderbilt Home Health coming to the house.
We have some super amazing people at our church that built a ramp and did a lot of other AMAZING work at our house. We also have family and friends that are going to clean the house for Jason's return home.
We have been so blessed by so many people throughout this situation!
We are so ready to be back home with our girls. This is another baby step on his road to recovery. I am looking forward to the day I can post that he has his external fixations off and is ready to start walking again.
As many of you know, Jason Tucker was involved in a tragic motor cycle accident on September 14, 2013. Jason's family greatly appreciates all of the thoughts and prayers that have been lifted up for him and Melissa in this desperate time. As their friends, we are extending an opportunity for everyone to provide them with a gift to help alleviate any financial burdens that they may experience as time goes on. May we all continue to pray for Jason and his sweet family!
