Legalizing Mini Goats and Chickens

I formed the political action committee Urban Farmers for Food Freedom when the City of Visalia took away my two miniature goats that I own to feed my small daughters - since I cannot produce breast milk due to a birth deformity.
Urban Farmers for Food Freedom formed in an effort to protect essential human rights and liberties, and to advocate for property rights and food freedom.
In July we launched the Family Food Freedom Act Initiative which will put the legal ownership of milk producing miniature goat and egg laying hens on the 2016 ballot. Our goal is to get 7,100 signatures of registered voters in Visalia by December 2015.
While we had a generous outpouring of donations when this whole thing started, the city has blasted us with every possible legal fee and publication fee they can think of along the way, and WE HAVE OFFICIALLY RUN OUT OF FUNDS.
Signature gathering is a very tedious and time consuming process, and we have found that the bulk of our volunteers are parents (mostly mothers with young children), with jobs, and finding dedicated work during the prime signature gathering times (weekday evenings) is not easy. So we are in the process of raising funds to hire additional help with signature gathering!
We are racing the clock right now to get enough valid signatures to make the June 2016 ballot!
We have the community interest. We have the majority on our side. We just lack the manpower to go out and get each food freedom loving signature ourselves. While we're planning to work our baby wearing butts off to get the signatures, having the extra help would be a blessing beyond words, and would ensure victory!
Please consider donating anything you can spare in this fight! All funds raised will be put towards:
- Hiring help for signature gathering and verifying signatures
- Covering gas for taking the mini goats to public events
- Printing costs of petitions and office supplies
- Urban Farmers for Food Freedom bumper stickers and mailers
- Misc. city expenses that crop up
