Fighting the battle of cancer for our girl Stacey!
In early March of 2013, our dear friend Stacey was battling early stages of cervical cancer. Following a battery of tests, and life changing surgery, we thought that most of the cancer was eliminated. Post operative tests ordered by her physicians indicated that the likelihood of the cancer coming back was 0.5%!! Collectively we sighed a breath of relief and celebrated because Stacey beat cancer, and we were relieved for her!!! Remission seemed to be on the horizon.
But our relief was premature.
The cancer had returned.
It was a Wednesday night, few weeks ago, when we heard the news that caused many of us to question, so what now? What can we do for Stacey and her family? And what's best for her at this point? Aside from prayers, how can we support her with whats turning into the biggest battle of her life. For her life. Together as a group, we realized that prayers and love were standard, but she will need more to survive. She will need time. Time to fight, time to recover, time to assess and fight again. Unfortuntately the real world doesn't stop when cancer starts. Her boys still need to eat, they all still need a roof over their heads, some how she has to get to her chemo appointments, and all this on the shoulders of a single mother with her loving sister.
We all want the best for Stacey and her family. The best thing we can do for her is stay positive so that she can concentrate on recovery. So how are we going to do this? FUNDRAISING....and dancing the night away!!
A celebratory event will be held in Stacey's honour on
Saturday November 9th, 2013 at the Royal Canadian Legion.

There will be door prizes, finger foods, cash bar and a silent auction ranging from services to memorabilia. A little momento if you will, of your help to fight the fight and help her towards her road to recovery. Your funds will help financially in all aspects of daily life. Food, shelter, bills, but ultimately, it's key in helping Stacey feel secure knowing that this aspect is taken care of.
