Peabody Veterans Memorial High School is a comprehensive high school north of Boston. The PVMHS Cosmetology program is a two-year program that leads to professional licensure for graduates. We are proud of our 100% pass rate for graduates who take the Massachusetts State Board Exam. Our graduates are in demand to fill positions at the most up-scale and professional salon locations.
Students who have chosen a career in cosmetology have a myriad of career options available to them. To enhance their education, it is important to get out of the classroom and have some "real world" experiences. To give students an opportunity to explore the beauty industry and learn from some of the most respected experts in the industry we would like to give them an opportunity to attend the New York International Beauty Expo, March 2014. The cost of the trip including bus transport, meals, tickets and accommodations will cost each student $500.00. We would like to off-set this cost through GoFundMe! The cost of this trip will be a hardship for some of our students and their families. By raising $3100 our student cost will be off-set by $100.00 for each student.
In addition to being "givers" when it comes to treating clients well, cosmetologist are known for their good deeds and community service. Salons routinely hold fundraising cut-a-thons, participate in charity walks as a team and volunteer to do the hair backstage for fashion shows that benefit all sorts of charities-children's needs, cancer, AIDS, victims of hurricanes and other disasters, hunger and pretty much any cause that's out there. It's a charitable industry filled with generous people. Your stylist is always "hair" for you, please be "hair" for our students! On behalf of our students and our school....THANK YOU!
