The Chemo is doing its job the original tumor is no longer active! But we are still not out of the woods. We still remain to do chemo for at least one more month, if not longer, and have to go to seattle frequent eye exams under anesthetics. We are hoping with any more tumors that may appear will be small enough to be lasered off as they are found. We have strong hopes that she will be keeping her eye Unless the tumors build an immune to the chemo and are too much for the Doctors to keep under control, then the circumstances may change and they may have to take the eye.. But of right now that is not the case. We appreciate all donations that we have received and are grateful for anything you can spare to help our family with the cost of all of this in this time of need. Bless you all and thank you!

We found out that if they take her eye wednesday to get a fake eye is considered cosmetic and our medical most likely will not cover it:(

This is Madilynn, she is a very happy and active 1 year old who was born premature at 31 weeks. When she was born she had a hole in her heart, a tight valve, and a heart murmur. She is still seeing a cardiologist for this. Then on August 16, 2013 Madilynn was diagnosed with Retinablastoma, an Intraocular Tumor, and Glaucoma, all in her right eye. This is a very rare and aggressive type of cancer, with only about 300 cases in the United States a year. She will be blind in her right eye, except for being able to see some shapes and bright light, for the rest of her life. If they can not get the cancer shrunk and under control, if not they will be removing the eye and giving her an artificial eye.
We go back to Children’s Hospital next week to put the port in and start chemo. We will have to travel to Seattle Children’s Hospital on a weekly basis when we are not staying up there for a few days here or a week there. It is expensive. If her eye is removed it is not fully covered because it is considered a cosmetic surgery as well as some of her medication is not fully covered.
So we have created a donation fund to help with the cost of travel, unpaid medical cost and medication, the following link is for online donations and is also pinned at the top of her page (www.gofundme.com%2F3z4ei0&h=kAQEn1Y26AQGu60Z8DE1T6cRff7-NTsZFjt5tiYtH3DcinA&s=1" rel="nofollow nofollow" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(59, 89, 152); cursor: pointer; text-decoration: none; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13.333333969116211px; line-height: 18.88888931274414px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"> http://www.gofundme.com/3z4ei0 ). We have also set up an account for Madilynn at Anchor Bank. It is under Madilynn’s fund. Please help if you can! Thank you for the support! Any and all prayers are greatly appreciated! God Bless!

We did our first round of chemo. Have to be back in Seattle on Thursday for a week this time. Wish that I had magical powers and make all the cancer in the world disappear for ever!

They are starting chemo as a last chance to save the eye from having to be removed. If in two months it has not shank than they will be taking the eye. Either way she is blind in that eye but less trama on her if they dont take it.
