What I Am Asking For

What I am asking for is simple: 1% of what you earn each pay period. Tell 1 friend about this page.

Why I Am Doing This
My Mother has been through so much with my Dad. My Dad served over 20 years in the Military (now 100% disabled from serving) in one of the most difficult branches of the military, mainly Seal Team Six. My Dad always said we served right alongside of him, my Mother most of all.

The last time I saw my Mom, she was having a rough time. The medicine given to her many years ago to cope with the stress and built-up chemical imbalances over the years (apartment being bombed, my Dad being deployed in war zones all but about a week out a year, being declared dead for over a year) had turned on her. Out of the massive paranoia and lack of awareness, she said something that struck out to me: "I can't hear what you're saying."

She was born deaf, about 50-60% of a loss. I have a firm belief that were she able to hear finally for the first time, it would help her tremendously. It would not solve all her problems, but having the ability to hear clearly and to do away with the frustration and abstractness of missing over half of what is being said just might be enough to help her finally get rid of this medicine.

They have developed a new implant that actually fixes hearing. It is called the esteem. I have a video below about it and I have a linkhere.

I think that this a chance that both my Mom and my Dad deserve.

This is a Call

I have always heard of the hospitality and goodwill towards military wives. Today I am calling on that. For everyone who has served in the military, she could use the help.

For those who haven't, I would like to share how many times I was told he was coming home, and yet he couldn't. I would like to share what it was like to have uniformed men in service dress blue show up at your doorstep and tell you that someone you love won't be coming home. I would like to share with you that during the massive genocides in Rwanda, when that Black Hawk went down in Somalia, someone had to be there.

As I am writing this, I am taking a break from work. It is hard just to type some of these things. I am working 70-90 hours a week to put what I can towards this, as well as building a website to donate 100% of the revenues towards it, as well as studying for my MBA to get a better job.

All I am asking for is 1% of a check each pay period, and tell one friend. Share it on your Facebook walls, twitter, anything. It all helps, more than you know. I saw that you can give reward levels, so maybe I can think of something to give back for all your donations.

Thanks, and God Bless.

David
