Every weekday, I go to the animal center and take Hope on a walk. Hope is so patient. She just hit the 1-month mark at the shelter. I wonder how many times people have seen this beautiful dog, and inquired about her adoption, only to balk when they find she has a parasite that requires expensive treatment.
Yet hope is a funny dog. She is still so happy to see me every time I come up to her cage to walk her. As far as I know, she's only known life on the streets and in the shelter, yet there's not a hint of anger in her heart.
I need hope. I need to believe in the limitless possibilities of Hope's future, in defiance of the impending end where that parasite will take her if it remains in her heart. I've spoken with the staff at Austin Trustees, the most affordable option in town, and they estimated that for her condition, it will cost around $500. I have a steady income and can take care of her, but I need help with this large upfront cost. I need anyone who can offer anything to help me come up with $500 so that I can schedule an appointment for Hope as soon she gets out of the shelter.
Thanks for your help in making an appointment for Hope.
