Cosmo the Wonder Dog needs your help

This is our Wonder Dog, Cosmo. He's in need of knee surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. That's a fancy way of saying he blew out his knee and can't get around. Last summer we did the surgery on his left knee, this year his right needs it. The surgery is $2500 and since this guy has had some high medical bills in the past that whopping total is not a possibility for us.

Cosmo is a three-year-old, 100-pound rescue dog who we believe is mostly Anatolian Shepherd. He is a beautiful dog inside and out. A gentle soul who seems to understand all that his humans say and feel. Below you can see him meeting a tiny kitten and a chihuahua. He would not hurt a flea. When we adopted him he had been abandoned in a parking lot in northern Minnesota. He had a hard time walking and could only attempt to run with his back legs together hopping like a rabbit. With lots of love, good food, and slow and steady exercise he learned to be a trusting, fun-loving, active dog who relished a good run now and then. However, his early treatment and diet have taken a toll on his body. He now needs knee surgery so he can work back up to taking long walks in the woods and lazily chasing after a ball or romping with the kids.
