Medical Bills for Victoria

Donation protected
Hello to all! Whether you've come to my page because you know me or if you stumbled across it while browsing, please take a few moments of your day and consider helping me out. It's impossible for me to tell you every detail leading up to where I am today, but I will give you an idea of what I've been going though. As I write this, it's 3 a.m. and I am in extreme pain as I lay here in bed. I am turning to the generosity of strangers, friends, and family to help me cover the cost of recent medical bills as well as future medical bills. Earlier this year I had a severe pain in my back all of a sudden after never having any prior issues. The pain was so bad that my mother drove me to the nearest E.R. After MANY visits with doctors, specialists, surgeons, and several (painful) nerve tests, we found that I have a bulging discs on my L3 as well as L4 vertibrae. The pain subsided pretty quickly (thankfully) but then my right leg went numb from the knee on to my toes. The doctors were not entirely surprised because they felt the main reason for the 'drop foot' was due to my weight. Now, I posted a very recent picture. It was taken about 2 weeks ago and anyone can see that I am a 'woman of size'. Yes, I am medically speaking, morbidly obese. I always have been my entire life. Being obese is nothing new to me but having back and pain and possible nerve issues is. I was scared at the thought of never having use or feeling in my 'drop foot' and all of my doctors are now recommending me to have the gastric sleeve weight loss surgery to help alleviate pressure on my nerves and discs. Unfortunately for me, diet and excercise will not be enough to lose weight. I am 29 years old and am in a position that is going to make it nearly impossible to heal because of mobility issues. Yes, I am changing my diet to get a head start on losing weight, but I am unable to do any intense physical activity. I NEVER expected to be handicap at this age. I am an extremely outgoing and positive person and I love spending time dancing and going to concerts with my friends. I am happiest when I am with the ones I love but due to my recent health issues, I have had to miss out on alot of celebrations, birthdays, and going away parties for loved ones. I am still employed and have been for 10 straight years however my insurance will only cover half of the cost of the weight loss surgery. My estimated out of pocket will be around $10,000.00. I intend to finance any remaining balance after insurance, but I am really optimistic that I won't have to be burdened with a large loan payment if I can raise even a portion of what I need. It's not often that I ask for handouts, but I have the rest of my life ahead of me and there are so many things I would love to accomplish. If you will help me achieve my weight loss goals so I can help get my back, back on track (pun intended) I would be so appreciative. I am a believer that all good doings come back to you. Call it karma, destiny, what have you, but I am confident the universe will pay you back. Thank you for reading, and thank you for you help and support. -Victoria
