Since I started this account my life has taken some pretty significant changes.  I completed my Master's in Social Work in May of 2014.  I was finally able to get a full-time position in November, but lost the position in early February.  I have been unemployed ever since.  Financing for my PhD at Wilfrid Laurier never came through, so obviously that didn't happen.  When my job ended I applied to the PhD Social Work program at the University of Kentucky.  I was officially accepted in late May.  I began working toward my PhD in Social Work at the University of Kentucky in August 2015.  I have relocated to the Lexington, KY area in order to attend courses.  My research focus isn't too specific just yet, but the broad topic is "Transgender Issues".  I'm currently working on papers focusing on the Transgender Social Movement and Transgender Identity Formation.

I miss co-facilitating a Transgender Therapeutic Support Group that met weekly back in VA.  The group remained  a small group, but is still doing good work and helping some people have better happier lives, even in my absence.  This is really the work that I want to be doing.  I wish the members of the group the best of luck.

Anyway, I am still looking for help with funding my top surgery goal, as well as funding for Grad School. In addition to that, if I am able to receive enough funding to start a private non-profit Transgender Health Center in my area, well I'll postpone Grad School in order to get it started.  My master's thesis was a proposal for using the student resources (i.e. students studying to provide services are able to provide services under supervision) from the two major universities in my area.  Unfortunately, neither school is good at working with another school, so I would need to do something as a private entity and then utilize the resources if this is to work.
