Zion's Going To Dominican Republic

Donation protected
My name is Zion. I am 15-years-old. I am making life more meaningful and enjoyable for both adults and kids by launching my non-profit, Baseball And Beyond. It started when I combined my love for baseball, and my love for helping people. Both make me feel good.

I pull garbage and recycling bins to the curb for a city block on Wednesday nights. And, I am replacing a fence for an elderly woman who had a storm blow down her old one. My papa is helping with that one. I am also putting together some gift bags with his nana for the homeless.

I don't charge anyone. Why? Because I want to set an example for other kids, give back to my community and get experience that will help me with my own enterprise I will launch this year.

I was chosen along with about 20 other American boys to represent the 16 and Under USA baseball team. We will be flying and playing in the Dominican Republic. This baseball program is called Orlando Cepeda Caribbean Classic. We're pretty excited even though some of us don't have most of the money we need for airplane tickets, hotel, and spending money for food and other things we would need.

I knew this would be a good opportunity to help my teammates, myself. I am here not only to raise money for the trip, but to launch my non-profit that will have kids from all backgrounds getting involved, being responsible and volunteering in their communities.

More About Who I Am

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most people call me polite. It's natural for me to be calm and happy. I am a sophomore in high school. I like athletics as well as academics. I'm 5'10", throw right, and bat left. Baseball is in my blood. I am the great grandson of one of the best female baseball & softball players to ever play both games; Joanne Dimaggio. And, the great-great-great nephew of New York Yankee All-star, Joe Dimaggio.

Off the Field, and in the Classroom

I didn't even ask them, but two of my former teachers took the time to tell you how I am OFF the field (in the classroom). I appreciate that Ms. Paula Papetti and Ms. Kara Fitzgerald from the Pittsburg Unified School District. Here's the facebook link.

"I had the pleasure of teaching Zion in 7th grade! What a great kid he was then and continues to be! I am so proud to see what he is continuing to accomplish!"

"Taught Zion. Such a great young man! Love his focus and commitment."

From Thousands of Miles Away

"Very impressive, very worthy. Very proud of a young man setting a high bar and then seeking to raise it higher. I hope self-esteem and respect becomes popular again. That's one the great things I would hope to see back in Great America again."
- Bruce Burns
Louisville, KY

If you want to help me help kids, adults and our world, that would be awesome.
If you are interested in backing the project, we would appreciate anything along the lines of $25.00, $50.00 $100.00 or more.

I am confident and committed to making things that matter happen. I will keep my backers updated on how things are going.

I haven't set this up to give away T-shirts for helping, but I may surprise you. But, I want to personally say thank you to all who contribute so please make sure I have your address.

Thank you so much!
