On the evening of May 24th, the lives of Natalie, Syniah, Shayla and her friend Alex were changed forever.  An outing to celebrate Shayla’s birthday turned from joy to horror in the blink of an eye.  A mentally disturbed gunman walked up to Louie’s Bar & Grill located on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City and opened fire on Natalie and her girls as they were walking into the restaurant.  Natalie immediately ushered the girls inside and into the restroom.  Once inside the restroom, Natalie was informed by her daughter that she had been shot and she called 911 immediately.

Syniah was shot in the back---the bullet went through her tailbone and exited through her stomach.  She had to be rushed to the trauma center where she underwent a 3 hour surgery to have part of her colon removed from where the bullet had shredded it and they also had to repair holes in her intestines.  She's facing possible long term GI issues.  Her female reproductive organs were also swollen and bruised from the bullet.

Alex was shot in the shoulder and in the arm. She has severe nerve damage and will have to undergo future surgeries.

Natalie was grazed by bullets in the left arm and left breast.

Audio recording had revealed 17 rounds were fired.

The medical costs Natalie is facing is tremendous even after insurance has paid.  In one horrific moment, the lives of Natalie and her girls were forever changed.  It is easy for the world to move on past this traumatic event that occurred but for Natalie and the girls, they are still healing both physically and emotionally.  It is still very much a part of their world.  They are doing better but still have a long ways to go.  The medical costs are just one of many other expenses Natalie faces during this time.

Any contribution amount is appreciated and helpful.  It takes a village to raise a child but it takes a community to pull together to ensure healing, wholeness, and provision are brought to those affected by life’s storms.

I sincerely thank you all for your prayers and support for Natalie and her girls.  If you know Natalie, then you will know her as kind, giving, loving and loyal.  She is a single mother and she is an Air Force vet.  She is passionate about being a mother and is a very hard worker.  This traumatic event has impacted her in many ways.  May our communities pull together in such a time as this.
