Kylie's journey to become a "Survivor"

Donation protected
Please help our little Kylie fight cancer. She was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma on June 2nd.

Kylie is a wonderful 2 1/2 year old little girl. She loves to act like a second Mother to her 1 yr old brother. She loves to help Daddy work on projects. She really loves to supervise Mommy cleaning the house. She is strong willed, independent, and has a personality that will serve her well when she grows up.

On May 3rd, she had a sty and some swelling around her eye. The Dr didn't seem to think it was a major issue and wanted us to watch it. 2 weeks later Kylie said she had a "BooBoo" and "it huwts". We brought her to the Dr again. This time the Dr did not like that her left cheek was very firm to the touch. She sent us to the Emergency room at CCMC to have them give her an ultrasound. The ER Docs after looking at the ultrasound, diagnosed her with the start of an infection, "like cellulitis but not cellulitis". In the ER they ruled out the possibility of cancer, since Kylie didn't mind them poking at her cheek. "If it was cancer it would hurt to much to let us." (Did we mention she is tough, also she will let a cute male Dr do anything.) They sent us home with an antibiotic that should knock out any infection she might have. Fast forward to Memorial Day Weekend. That Sunday, she is not looking any better, she looked worse. We talked to the Dr again and he told us to bring her back to the ER. This time she got a CAT Scan. This time they started to think it was more then an infection. Kylie was admitted so they could do an MRI on Monday. The MRI showed there was a mass. You could also see that the mass was pushing her eye up and out of the socket, as well as damaging the bones around the left side of her face. The Dr wouldn't say it was cancer until they did a biopsy. They tried to add her into the surgery schedule for that Tuesday, but by 3 pm it wasn't going to happen. She had the biopsy on Wed. They went in through her nose and between her cheek and gums to get enough cells. They did a biopsy of her bone marrow to make sure the cancer did not spread to that region, and they put in a port that will help greatly with drawing blood and administering chemo.

She was diagnosed with Stage 2 Burkitt's Lymphoma and will undergo a minimum of 6 months of chemo.

We would like to Thank You in advance for any donations you make. They will help her get the treatment she needs so she can grow up to be the strong woman we know she will be. No amount is too little, or too much.
