Hello, my name is Matthew Hedish and I am a Boy Scout with Troop 499. I'm currently a Life Scout and am working on
my Eagle Scout project.
For my Eagle Scout project I've chosen to build forty animal crates inside of an emergency transport vehicle for Daphneyland Basset Rescue.
Daphneyland is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which means they rely solely on donations from other people. Daphneyland is also where I rescued my two basset hounds, Lucy and Ernie.
I have been able to find a Master Welder who has volunteered her time (yes, her) to help me design the inside of the emergency vehicle. She has also committed many hours of her time to design the crates and help figure out what materials are needed. What I need is your help to purchase the raw materials to make this happen. I need to raise enough funds to buy materials to weld and install the crates and pad them with animal safe materials as well.
The vehicle will not only be used for Daphneyland but for other animal recuses in the area. This is a needed asset because Daphneyland Basset Rescue is a staging area (an area for other animal rescues to send their animals during an emergency) and they must be able to retrieve animals from other rescues if needed. We are drawing closer to fire season and it's critical that we build this emergency transport vehicle to make sure that the animals of Acton and the Santa Clarita Valley can be transported to safety during an emergency.
I chose to do my Eagle Project here at Daphneyland because this is where I'm most needed in my community. This is also where my ambition will really show as an Eagle Scout candidate to better my community. Please help me in my Eagle Scout project by donating anything possible to assist this cause to help Daphneyland and their rescue animals.
