Theatre Company of Saugus Lighting Board

Donation protected
The Theatre Company of Saugus (founded in 1968 as the Town-Criers) has long been a fixture of the community theatre scene on the Massachusetts North Shore. We produce several plays per season, ranging in size and scope from Anton Chekhov's The Proposal (a small one-act play performed in a church basement) to Mel Brooks' The Producers (a Broadway extravaganza performed on the Saugus High School stage). One of the most important parts of our mission is the cultural enrichment of the community, and we're frequently involved with the people of Saugus, whether it be through performing scenes from a children's show at local elementary schools or participating in the show at Founder's Day. We love to reach out and give back to the community in any way we can, but now we're asking for your help.

Our venerable old lighting board has served our needs for decades, but nothing lasts forever. It was beginning to show signs of mechanical failure and was no longer suited to the sort of lighting design practiced by community theatres. The time had come to replace it, and so we found a newer one that would serve our needs perfectly. However, it cost us $1500, which sets us back quite a bit "” $1500 normally goes a long way in community theatre.

And so we ask you, the community of Saugus, and the North Shore, and anybody else here on Go Fund Me, to help us recoup the expense of the lighting board. We hope to raise the money by the end of the summer. Anybody who contributes to the fund will receive a credit in the programs of all the shows in our upcoming theatrical season.

Thank you.
