My friend, I-55 Prison Bus Crash Survivor, Madison Hunt

Madison Hunt, a former 17-year resident of Juneau, Alaska, is a positive and fun loving adventurist. On April 6, 2017 she and her 2 dog companions were beginning the 4th day of their 3 month adventure; towing the 1960 Compact Shasta travel trailer she'd spent months restoring. She was on her way to New Orleans to visit my uncle and attend French Quarter Festival.

That morning, while passing through Manchac on I-55, an Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Prison Bus, full of inmates, slammed into the back of her at full speed. The bus obliterated her Shasta, which contained all of her belongings, and her SUV was completely totaled. She sustained multiple injuries all over, including her head. One of her dogs was severely injured and treated for 6 days at Tangipahoa Animal Hospital.

She is still waiting to be seen by a neurologist and even with her referral the wait list is extensive. She is currently in Physical Therapy and isn't able to drive right now. She has been solely reliant only on my uncle for transportation as well as housing and emotional support.

Although she lost everything tangible; she has maintained her positive outlook and HOPE for the best. At this time, insurance is only paying for the value of her car and unfortunately, it is not enough to pay off her loan. She has been advised that any other insurance payment could take a long time settle. This accident has left Madison destitute and potentially partially disabled. She has depleted all her savings in order to get her to the present, in this healing process.

Here's where she's wishing for a MIRACLE...

She still has multiple doctor appointments in New Orleans and will likely be here for a while. Madison could really use some extra money for transportation and food so she can feel some of her independence again. She's also wishing for enough funds to purchase a small motor home so she can have her own space again. She is hoping to eventually fly her brother here from Alaska and drive her and her dogs back, so that she may continue healing there with her family. This Gofundme could also help her with everything in between that we all know comes with such a terrible accident.

Please help her make a miracle out of this tragedy by helping her get her adventure back and the ability to heal with her family. You can also follow her story on www.madisonfix.com or look her up on her now public Facebook profile under Madison Hunt. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
