Helping Where I Can

This past summer I have been visiting Central Park , NYC often taking photos and meeting people along the way and if as I go there often , I began to meet and talk with the locals of the park , performers , artist , vendors etc . Of course everyone has a story. But , then I met "Jack" or the "bubble man " as I think of him . Now Jack is at the park often rain or shine making these giant bubbles providing enjoyment for the kids , as they all have to stop and chase the bubbles, and to see the smiles and the excitement in there eyes is just great to see . I also notice photographers with models or brides asking Jack to help with bubbles for their photos . Many times I've talked to Jack and he never let me on to his situation until recently . Jack is homeless , he sleeps in the park at night . He has been saving the money he earns from tips to help him get a room through the winter months , and also to pay for a test to be a licensed tour guide in NYC . He wants to start a tour business . Jack has a dream , he has set goals and he is out there trying to attain them . It's a slow process , I am sure , working for tips . But rather then standing on a corner shaking a cup , Jack is doing something , never complaining about his situation , never letting on that he's homeless and never begging . I respect that ! I'm not sure if people knew of Jacks dilemma, they would tip better or go the other way . But , sometimes it's a shame to think these parents will spend $100's $1,000's of dollars to make their kids happy with phones , video games etc. but paying some pocket change when you see the innocent pure joy of your child is kind of baffling to me . So if you ever find yourself in Central Park near the fountain and you see Jack with his bubbles . I hope you'll think twice about dropping a little extra in his tip bucket or help to donate a little something here . Every little bit will help. I believe just helping Jack to get through the winter months in a warm environment will help him to think , study , and do what he needs to do with a clear mind and attain his goals of starting a tour business or getting involved with a tour group . Sometimes a person can't reach the star they want without a little lift . Please help in lifting Jack .
