Nic's Interlochen Fund

Greetings friends! My name is Nicholas Mains, and I am a seventeen year-old theatre major attending Interlochen Arts Academy, a prestigious school in Northern Michigan for young artists. I dream to make a career in theatre, particularly musical theatre, and over the past semester at Interlochen I have already felt myself grow so much. I am currently involved with the musical Miss Saigon, which opens May 10th, 2013. My brother is a competitive figure skater and lives in Colorado, where he will be attending University of Colorado, Colorado Springs this Fall, my father is a physical education teacher, and my mother works at an advertising company in IT.

Because of recent circumstances, there may be difficulty in finding money for me to attend Interlochen next year, as it is an expensive institution. With my brother going to college this fall, and some unsettling events as of late, I need to find money in any way I can, including finding jobs over the Summer. My mother has been getting sick lately, and we did not know why until very recently. It was found that she had a brain tumor, and she has been hospitalized and has had surgery. Everything is going well, and she should be alright, but the medical expenses are going to be a heavy hit to our already stretched finances. Interlochen has been unbelievably amazing for me, and I would do most anything to be able to study there again next year.


Although the goal is set at fifty-thousand dollars, every bit will help alleviate some of this load, and will be extremely appreciated. Thank you so much.
