April 12, 2013, 162 soldiers left Laramie for a nearly year long deployment.
Among these soldiers were mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, friends,
family, and fellow Wyomingites.

Engineer Company will head for Bahrain to
Operation Enduring Freedom. Here, across the globe from their loved ones, they
will live without the luxuries of home – the simple things that we all take
an effort to make these Wyoming soldiers feel love and support from home, Liz
Zimmer of Liz’s Cakes and Jessica Romero of Sweets Cakes and Pastry have
teamed up to send monthly care packages to the troop’s base. These packages
will include tasty treats – a simple reminder of home.
Here is where you
would like to include expressions of gratitude from members of the wonderful
communities around Wyoming. Letters, cards, drawings, videos, songs – the sky
is the limit. We humbly ask you to participate in this cause by taking a small
moment of your day and asking, “What can I do to help?”
church leaders, student organizations, local businesses and teams, we ask you
to consider participating in Wyoming Treats for Troops. These men and women
deserve a treat, in every sense of the word, from those of us at home.
Have your students draw pictures or make crafts to send.
Write messages of gratitude to our soldiers.
Create a funny video or song to brighten their long days.
Raise funds for shipping and ingredient costs.
