Lewis is out to beat the odds.
Not even in his 20s, his life has been disrupted by serious health conditions: Myasthenia Gravis (a rare, incurable, life-threatening neuromuscular disease that strikes 2 in 1 million kids), autism, a bilateral congenital kidney disease, and a laundry list of other health conditions.
From very early on in his life, medical professionals, government agencies, counsellors, teachers, school administrators, and others have told him that the best he can hope for in life is to live on the kindness of strangers, and rely on welfare to pay his way in life.
But Lewis is out to beat the odds.
Since January 2012, Lewis has hosted his own half-hour radio show that focuses on the interests of the geekcentric community, from science fiction to cutting edge technology, video games and movies to anime and manga, and more.
Originally scheduled in a late afternoon midweek time slot, for the past year, the show has aired on Trent Radio 92.7 CFFF FM in Peterborough (Ontario, Canada) on Friday evenings at 8 PM.
Radio shows that feature interviews with industry professionals are uploaded to his Podomatic account at http://thegeekedmind.podomatic.com.
The money raised in this campaign will go to underwrite the cost of a home studio for Lewis so he can continue to create excellent radio content for his show, even when his health is working hard against him.
Please donate and help Lewis beat the odds so many professionals insist will keep him down.
