Kloe is my amazing brave 13 year old niece who loves life, her family, and anime.
She was diagnosed with a rare incureable disorder called "Cystic Fibrosis" when she was an infant. Breathing and staying health has been a struggler for all of her life. She is striving. SURVIVING!
Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. These secreted fluids are normally thin and slippery. But in people with cystic fibrosis, a defective gene causes the secretions to become thick and sticky. Instead of acting as a lubricant, the secretions plug up tubes, ducts and passageways, especially in the lungs and pancreas.
Not so long ago, at one of Kloe's many hospital stays, Kristi was informed that Kloe may need a double lung transplant in the near future. The team that presented this to Kristi, said that Pittsburg was the place to go. The doctors and staff was given the go ahead to start the process and referals to get Kloe to Pittsburg.
They have been trying and struggling to keep Kloe as healthy as possible to ensure she is strong enough to undergo such a major surgery.
Kloe got the call!
The Pittsburg hospital that Kristi and Kloe have been working with reguarding her potential lung tranplant have finally called her. They want Kloe to be in Pittsburg to start the testing on November 7th. She will have to stay there for about a week.
They are extremely limited on funds, and need help with transportation, food, and lodging.
