Matt Helping HIV Orphans in Africa

Donation protected

Matt Colbran-Patterson has the opportunity to volunteer at the Baobab Home in Tanzania in East Africa and to raise funds for services for the kids. An NGO, it's an orphanage for abandoned children, many of whom are affected by HIV/AIDS. It is a school teaching life skills and early education and a feeding program for HIV positive people in the town.
Matt is determined to go to Africa and help these children, his long term goal of becoming a doctor and making a difference in the world. In addition to his travel and subsistence costs (about $6,000) he wants to raise direct funds for the kids to receive additional services they need. Some require services not available in the town and one of Matt's jobs may be to take them to bigger cities for aid.
Last year he worked with young children at a summer program in the USA and has always been passionate about the underserved and medically needy. Unfortunately it's expensive to get there and stay throughout the summer and we have little additional funds beyond his current college education at UC Davis. We are looking to raise the funds for Matt to undertake this humanitarian and worthy trip and to provide much needed direct services to the kids. It will probably change Matt's life forever. Please help him reach his goal.
