The Philippines is a country that is still moving forward. But to get there, we need nation-builders. We need doctors, scientists, engineers, and teachers. We need education.
KRIS Library is an award-winning non-profit organization based in the Philippines that is trying to do just that. In the past two years, it has helped 132 of the poorest Filipino students get an education from preschool to elementary to high school to college.
Our scholars are the children of farmers, fishermen, tricycle drivers, single mothers, most of whom had never reached college. Our scholars hail from rural towns in Zamboanga City to urban slum areas in Metro Manila. They are often one out of 5-7 siblings. They come from families who survive with $2 a day. They live a day-to-day existence in search for food, better shelter, better health, and hope.
Despite that, they persevere. Some walk long kilometers, even swim, just to go to school. Some are determined to finish their schooling even though their own parents are asking them to work instead. And many of them are at the top of their class. All of them are clinging to hope.
But, now, you have the opportunity to give them that hope.
That's because education can change the game for these Filipino kids. That's because education is their chance to rise up from poverty.

100% of your donation will go to the enrollment and tuition fees, school supplies, and transportation subsidies of our scholars from preschool to college. If you choose to donate, we will give you updates about our fundraising project, all the relevant expenses, and the status of our scholars throughout the school year.
