New lungs for Liz

Hi, my name is Katy Rud and this is my sister, Elizabeth J. Miles She is 63 years old and has been sailing all her life. She is living on her 32’ 1936 Norwegian wood sailboat. She has made a living working on boats for other people. She does varnish work and cabinet work, as well as sailing boats to other Islands for people.
Three months ago she was working on a boat for someone. She was doing some fiber glass work and she used a mask as required. Unfortunately the mask was faulty burned the majority of her lungs. Several Pulmonologists were seen and medication given. They gave her a 50% chance of healing. She did not. Her days are spent lying around. Even talking takes more oxygen that she can spare. She said it was like having severe asthma 24 hours a day. Luckily there is a surgery that has been quite successful in this area. Unfortunately the cost is $21,000.00. Her own insurance will not pay for this surgery. Between her friends in Hawaii and I we are hoping to get enough contributions to pay for this surgery.
We are asking that you contribute what you can to help. No amount is too small. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated and this will give her a chance to live a normal life.
