ASHA Refugee Family Holiday Fund

Donation protected
Do you remember the first time you went to the seaside? ASHA, a small registered charity in Stoke-on-Trent, wants to give this pleasure to a group of families seeking asylum and living in Stoke.  Very probably most of the children have never seen the sea, let alone been to the seaside. We are looking to raise £600 to provide something engrained in the culture of Stoke-on-Trent, a day trip to Llandudno. We are hoping to hire a coach to provide a much needed holiday for those who wake each morning weighed down by the pressure of their application for asylum and not knowing what their future holds.

We need the funds as soon as possible so we can book a coach.  When I was a young child of a single parent family those simple British holidays were the one thing I looked forward to. I wish to help others share in that joy and make some beautiful family memories of their own.

A group of Quakers from Stone have donated £100 to get us started. Will you help?

ASHA provides a variety of services for men, women and families seeking asylum including food and clothing for those who are destitute, English language classes, a women and children groups, and advice, support and sign-posting. Ring 01782-363122 for more information.
