Caring for Chrissy

Chrissy Correia was accidentally shot in the neck on December 7, 1981, at the age of 3 by her 7 year old brother, while they were playing.She was left paralyzed from the waist down.This was very traumatic for her entire family, and she and her brother were bullied growing up. Doctors told her that she would never have children. Chrissy went on to graduate high school and attended some college,even worked jobs while her health permitted.She has had over 80 surgical procedures in her 34 years on this earth. Chrissy was diagnosed with MS in 2005, and had her right foot amputated in 2010 from an infection. Her MS is so severe that she has a service dog named Lady, that helps her with daily activities. Just recently , she was badly burned and has been hospitalized for nearly two months and counting.



Despite all odds that were against her, God has blessed Chrissy with a beautiful family. She has a five year old daughter named Anais and a 9 month old son Jesuo Jr. who give her the will, drive, strength, motivation and determination each day. She currently lives in a handicap accessible apartment with her family. She is a fighter who has been through hell and back,yet seems to be in great spirits and is very humble.She doesn't complain and makes the best of what she can. That is what I admire most about her.

I'm raising money to help Chrissy purchase a newer wheelchair van, a new wheelchair and help with some financial needs that she and her family struggle with. Thank you in advance for helping to enhance the quality of Chrissy's life. Her story is so heartfelt and melts my heart to pieces.
