Welcome to the Dan Burnet Scholarship Fundraising page.
Many of
you will know Dan and his wife Joanna from their family business VisitOz. Based in
rural southeast Queensland, Dan and Joanna have helped young people from around
the world discover authentic Australian outback life and secure work placements
for over 20 years. Originally from Swanage, United Kingdom, Dan became a loved
and respected member of the global youth travel community, sharing his passion
for his adopted country and working hard to support his successful family
business.
It was while doing just this that Dan suffered a tragic accident
during WETM-IAC in Rome, and subsequently passed away in hospital on Saturday
16 March.
To celebrate Dan's achievements in the youth travel and tourism movement on a global scale, the Dan Burnet Scholarship Fund is now live. Stand up and be counted and make a donation to the Fund. Individual or organisational lead donations are of course welcome and we of course welcome any additional support by way of contributions for the continued promotion of youth travel via education and cultural understanding.
All donations will go
towards a youth programme to continue the wonderful work of Dan - and
Joanna his wife - and the VisitOz team in order to provide travel
opportunities.
The aim: to inspire a spirit of enquiry and adventure
amongst the next generation of young people from across the world.
