THANK YOU ALL SO, SO MUCH
It's been a fantastic experience
I've learnt how to strip wallpaper, how to garden, how to do mailers and also what lovely friends and family I have
Got myself a gardening job - thanks Jenny and Mark, means I can work to help raise funds
Thanks so much to everyone who's supported me so far - have so far raised an amazing £720!!!
Thanks so much to everyone at 3rd Upton Scout Group who kindly donated to my course fees. What a lovely surprise!
Following the newspaper article I was contacted by Ian Houghton who kindly offered me a days work to help revamp his flat. Spent the day lifting heavy objects, sweeping floors and sawing wood - it was hard work but I enjoyed it. Thanks so much Ian for the contribution of £80 - means I'm over a third of the way to my goal
Thanks so much to everyone who's supported me so far - it's a great start. Will help me pay for the first installment due this week.
Really, really appreciate your help
My name is James Gibbons and I'm currently a Sixth Former at
St Josephs Catholic High School in Slough;
studying AS Sociology and BTEC Grade 3 Performing Arts.
Ever since I was little I've been passionate about
singing. My Mum will tell you that I
could sing before I could talk (she'll tell you Robbie Williams' "Angels" was a
firm favourite as a 2 year old in the back of her car).
Over the past few years I've been fortunate enough to be a
member of Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead Theatre
Company (SWMTC) taking part in many of their productions, including their most
recent (Titanic The Musical) at the Theatre Royal in Windsor.
And I was in the cast of the Royal Borough Youth Opera's Sweeney Todd
performed at Eton College's Farrer
Theatre in July 2012.
I'm sure from the above you'll understand why one of my
other passions is performing in musical theatre.
Recently, I was thrilled to be offered a place with Youth
Music Theatre UK (YMT), a national theatre company for young. They've asked me to join "Soul Music," a
residential musical theatre course which will be held in Godalming from 12th to
25th August 2013. The project
covers all aspects of music theatre and we will work with an experienced
artistic staff to develop skills in writing, composing and choreography. The course will culminate in a performance at
the Wilde Theatre, Bracknell
from 24th to 25th August 2013.
I am trying to raise the funds needed for my course fee of
£1,215. The costs cover all my
accommodation, food and pastoral care.
YMT is a registered charity (number 1103076 in England and Wales,
SC039863 in Scotland)
and they will be happy to recognise companies and individuals who make
donations on their website, newsletter and programme.
If you have any queries or wish to discuss this request with
a member of YMT staff please phone Anna or Richard in the office on 0844
Many thanks for taking time to read this letter, and I look
forward to hearing from you.
