My name is Deborah and on March 1, 2013 I rescued a miniature horse from a bad situation. I was told she was just fat, not pregnant. I took her home and much to my suprise, on March 6 she delivered a premature baby girl. Sadly the baby was very weak and couldnt get up or eat. I called the vet and we tried getting her up and bottle feeding her but as each hour passed, it became more clear that the only fighting chance she had was to be in the equine hospital ICU. We could not afford this, but we just could not let this poor innocent baby die. We took her to the Chino Valley Equine Hospital. She is being fed through feeding tubes, has an IV feeding her plasma and antibiotics every hour. she is disoriented and still has not figured out to drink from her mother. She is still very weak and it is now day 5 in the hospital..We have maxed out almost all our credit cards to pay the hospital for the last few days. The hospital ICU care for her is around $800-$1000 a day so that's why my goal is $8000 and I wanted to explain that. As soon as the vet gives me any update on time frame for her hospital stay, I will share that with everyone. The vet says if we bring her home she will surely die but we just can't afford to keep her there... I am devastated since our family already loves this little filly so much. We named her "Angel" because she is a precious gift from Heaven. Please help us if you can so we can save her! Thank you so much! Please keep her in your prayers and God bless you!
