Help Jenna age-out with Legends!

Legends Drum and Bugle Corps is a non-profit youth organization based out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. We travel and perform throughout the United States each summer, competing against some of the top marching music ensembles in the world! This summer we will be together for 66 days, traveling as far east as New Hampshire, and as far west as Minnesota, culminating in the Drum Corps International World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.



During these 66 days, Legends will be perfecting an outstanding 15-minute production that combines percussion, brass, dance, and visual artistry. Our members, ranging in age from 14 to 21, will work daily from sunrise to sunset, learning valuable life lessons and skills that cannot be taught in any classroom.


This will be my fifth and final season with Legends. I can say without any hesitation that being a part of this organization, which I have come to call my family, has been one of the most influential and life-changing experiences I will ever have. As Drum Major for this group for my third year, I know I have learned invaluable life skills that I will take with me, and use throughout my entire life. Traits such as dependability, strong leadership, communication, discipline, and perseverance are crucial in an activity that requires you to be on the top of your game at all times. As principal Drum Major, I conduct our entire ensemble of around 90 musicians and performers on the field as well as being the primary source of leadership for the members off the field.


I am currently a junior at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, studying Music Education with an Instrumental Emphasis. In addition to preparing for the upcoming summer, I am keeping myself busy with classes, multiple ensembles, and other organizations such as the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME), the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA), and the Delta Iota Chapter of Delta Omicron.


It is my dream to be a great music teacher some day, and share the love of music I have instilled in me with my future students. Marching my age-out with Legends will give me more reason to love this world of music, and gain me the experience of learning under some of the best music teachers in the midwest.
