1 IN 4 NEW HIV/AIDS CASE IS FEMALE. GT TV ASKS, "IS HIV/AIDS THE NEW COLD?"

Learn the truth and know your status. Watch the HIV/AIDs Special on Girls Talk TV.

The CDC estimated 7800 new cases of heterosexual females diagnosed with HIV in 2010. The number of cases continue to increase among females both young and old and our youth seem not to care. For many young people, their first thought about HIV/AIDs is "Magic Johnson is living and healthy". Some even think they can take a pill and easily live out the rest of their lives. Bridgette, a 41 year old African America woman, has been living with HIV/AIDs since she was 19 years old and she tells a different story. Girls Talk TV traveled to Philadelphia, PA to sit down with her and ask her how it all happened. How did she cope? What can we do to help stop the spread of this epidemic? How can we help those who have been infected?

Girls Talk TV (GT TV) is producing this segment for "National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day" (March 10). It is our hope that we can work with organizations, schools and churches to present the special and have Bridgette Black present for a very serious discussion. Let's talk about what we can do to help the HIV/AIDs community, how we can stop the spread and if someone has it what they need to do to help themselves. We need help from our community to produce enough DVDs to give away, bring Bridgette out to speak and market the production. Please help us and give what you can to the cause.
