I have a question for you...
Have you ever had the desire to do something, but didn’t, because of fear?
Maybe you have thought to yourself, “it’s not the right time” or “I’m not financially ready.”
Those were the same thoughts I had before making the commitment to study abroad this summer.
2015 was a very challenging year for me.
I lost two close friends, shifted my whole world up to Northern California, and found myself doing a lot of soul searching.
In the midst of these changes, I realized how quickly life moves and if you don’t seize the moment now, that moment will pass.
It’s never going to be the “right time” and you’re never going to be completely ready, but you should leap anyway. As cliché as it may sound, life is all about taking chances and “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
I don’t want to live in fear or allow worry to rule my decision making.
So this summer, I’m traveling to Bangkok, Thailand!
I will be studying abroad for the first time with 30 students from UC Davis. We will be studying microbiology and learning about how the microorganisms within your body play a huge role in maintaining your health. This is an excellent opportunity for me as a nutrition major because it will provide me with an unparalleled experience beyond the typical education at the university.
However, the reality is, I do need your help. The program is expensive and the interest on student loans makes the cost of my trip go up even higher. Nevertheless! I am doing whatever it takes to make it to Thailand and will be fundraising on my own until my departure on June 29. Your support is a gift that will never go unnoticed, for I know, I am embarking on an adventure that is going to be life-changing!
I hope this inspires you to live your life to the fullest and walk in love in all you do!
We are not promised tomorrow and there is no better time than the present, Carpe Diem!
