Ryan's Chest Surgery

I started this donation page to help fund my chest reconstruction surgery. The surgery is $6,800 out of pocket. I am a full time student with 3 part time jobs, but i simply do not make enough income to save for surgery as well as cover everyday life expenses.
Insurance does not cover anything because policy believes that this kind of surgery is not critical and is only cosmetic. The truth is that transgender surgeries are often very critical for an individual. Many transgenders have low self esteem, extreme dysphoria, and depression because their bodies do not match who they are. In fact, 41 percent of transgender people in the United States have attempted to commit suicide.
Many FTM's bind their chest to make a more male appearance in public. But over time, binding can cause many health problems (difficulty breathing, deformed ribs, back/neck/shoulder problems, etc.) and possibly increase the risk of getting breast cancer.
My surgery is scheduled for May 15th, 2013. I need all the payments in by April 17th. The goal is to have $1400 raised by then, and the rest of the cost I should be able to cover (if my calculations are correct).
