Sweet Sophie Lee...

Donation protected

This is for my baby girl, sweet Sophie Lee. She was born on her due date, July 25, 2012....healthy and perfect. Everything went great until she was about 3 months old when I started noticing little things but nothing that really made me say something is wrong. Around the first of December I did notice enough to say that something is wrong and started asking the doctors to screen her development. I finally requested a CT scan and bloodwork, they showed two spots on her brain and elevated ammonia levels so we were immediately sent to Lebonheur for further testing. It was the weekend and a holiday one at that so we had to wait 3 days for an MRI, but when they finally performed one we had an answer within an hour. My world stopped and I still cant put all that emotion into words. All I can say is that I gave her to God while she was still in the womb, she was never really mine to give, she has been his all along. She is a true blessing from God, born an Angel.  Any money raised will go toward her medical and care expense as well as burial when it is time for that.

I would like to add that I am a single mother of four children. At this point I can not work because I have to take care of her and still be a Mother to the others. Until recently we were homeless, we became that way after I lost my job for being pregnant when I was hired and not telling them ( I know its discrimination and illegal but its hard to prove in court, especially when you don't have money to fight with).  I couldnt pay the bills and had to move us  in with my Mom,her boyfriend and my oldest daughter.  That didnt last long, its crowded in a 2bd/1ba house with 7 people(2 pregnant) and heatwave going on outside. The nerves were frayed to say the least. So a cousin of mine said "hey I got an old trailer that I was about to tear down, but I know you dont have anywhere to go so come on and move in rent free, the utilities are on just pay the bills"...How could I say no to that?  I didnt mind the holes in the ceilings, walls and floors...we had a place of our own, then it got cold.  We only have space heaters and there is mildew growing in the bedroom that Sophie Lee and I share.  Considering her health situation, I refuse to take her back there.  We have found a house to move into but need help getting the utilities on.  I do have a vehicle that 3 different mechanics have told me to scrap causes it aint worth fixing, I live 130 miles away from her doctors and will be traveling to see them at least once a week from now until the end.  I do not have money for gas to make those trips. I do not have money to pay for anything state medicaid wont, I do not have life insurance or a burial plan or plot for her.  Lets not forget that while all this is going on with her I have 3 other children that need me to take care of them as well and all their needs.
