The new home of the Enchanted Florist is abuzz with work being done! The third bay of the space has been closed off and the painting is about to begin!
Rumor has it that The Enchanted Florist will be open on 1 July at 54 Columbia Street in historic Downtown Albany!
The colors for the walls of the new retail space have been chosen. Exciting!
As work continues on moving into the retail space, I have decided to reopen this campaign to see if we can reach the goal.
Please consider making a loan or a gift.
Thank you all for your continued help, love and support.
Thank you all for your support in these final hours! Please share the link: paying it forward is a beautiful thing!
A man and his dog...some beautiful flowers...a dream and a passion: Priceless! Please consider a loan or gift to my business start-up capital fund. Maybe we can make $3,000 by the end of the weekend?
Today was great! I have two entries in the Capital Region Garden and Flower Show and have just received word that I earned Honorable Mention. That's not bad considering that the competition is quite stiff and it's my first year entering! I've also picked up a load of the most beautiful flowering quince branches I have ever seen--just in time to force for Easter!
The meeting with the Downtown Business Improvement District was great! It's given me some great ideas and a sense of arriving in the right place at the right time. It's all so fresh and wonderful! You're all a part of it with me! Thank you! ❤
Today was another busy day! Deliveries, a meeting with the Downtown BID, finalizing plans for this weekend's Capital Region Garden and Flower Show and more!
60% is a beautiful thing! Thanks, thanks, and ever thanks! Now, let's make short work of that remaining 40%!
Another field trip! Today's travel will include some road time with Cohort as we travel to Johnstown to look at floral supplies and goodies.
Field trip! Iris and I will be heading to Schenectady for a noontime liquidation sale at a retiring florist!
I'm very close to raising 60% of the goal! It's amazing! You're all so very wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've spent my afternoon in the best of ways: bridal consult, telephone conversations with suppliers, and fleshing out the details of the time-line to move into the shop!
I've chosen the initial round of color swatches and have come up with design ideas for the retail space!
The halfway mark has been reached! What a way to enter a weekend! Thank you, thank you, thank you! WOOT!
$100 away from the 50% mark is a very exciting place to be! Thank you all for your loans and gifts, but mostly for your faith in me and my vision!
Hitting that 50% mark will be incredible! I can feel it...
39% of the needed capital has been realized...that's nearly halfway there! Thanks, thanks, and ever thanks!
Many people have asked how long I will be raising the capital. I have decided that 31 March, ideally, will be the deadline so that I can go straight into the month of April with a plan of action.
Thank you all so very much for your help!
One-third of the goal in just one week! How amazingly wonderful. Thank you to all who have given so generously.
I was at the storefront yesterday to make some notes and take some photographs of the frontage and interior! It was very windy and cold, but excitement filled the air.
I've sketched out tentative floor plans for the new retail space! It's exciting!
We've made it just over 25%! I am amazed, I am astonished, I am loved! Still plugging away...give if you are able, and please share the link!
As we approach the 25% mark after only a few days, I wish to thank you all for your support. The encouragement I have received has been inspirational. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Nearly 25% of the way to my goal! The outpouring of generosity is not only amazing, it is inspiring! To say that I am blessed is an understatement.
I was at the new storefront yesterday and did a walk-through. My mind is ablaze with the great potential! Thank you all for helping me begin this journey!
Anyone who knows me knows that my love and knowledge of flowers has been a lifelong part of who I am. Add to that my creative nature and my fearless nature when it comes to an adventure.
I have been arranging flowers for church, weddings and funerals as a hobby for over half my life. It has been more than my hobby, it has been my passion. In 2012 I began making a serious effort to focus on making this passion my work, sharing my creativity and love of flowers with an even larger audience. Filing necessary paperwork to register myself as a business The Enchanted Florist became a reality.
In such a short time I have done very well in business and have outgrown the use of the storage spaces, dining room and kitchen at home. Just as I was wondering what to do I was told of a retail space in Albany's wonderful downtown. As the space becomes a reality and the door of retail business opens to me I find myself at an exciting (and terrifying) time. The opportunity is too great to pass up!
My business model is unconventional and my needs are too small for financing from a bank. My initial start-up needs, however, exceed my own capital, thus bringing me to the wonderful world of gofundme.
If you've ever enjoyed any of my floral arrangements or have witnessed the joy and passion that flowers bring to my life, of if you simply just love me, it is my hope that you will find a way to help The Enchanted Florist Bloom!
The capital raised through this page will help to establish the retail presence: Permits, Signage, Shelving and Refrigeration, Miscellaneous Supplies, etc.
I would love to talk about this project and my vision! For those of you who know me, call me and ask me about it! I am also always available through email. EnchantedAlbany@gmail.com.
(*All gifts, named and anonymous, will have my unending gratitude. Anonymous gifts will be treated as gifts. Named gifts will be treated as good faith loans.)
