In case you missed it last...

In case you missed it last night, Knute reached his end goal on his gofundme thanks to a very generous and caring stranger/new friend! We want to thank everybody who reblogged and all of my friends and strangers who donated, I appreciate it so much and we owe you dearly. If any of you are ever in a tight spot in the future and need help, never hesitate to ask us and don’t be afraid to ask the internet, either! You never know what will happen, no situation is hopeless.

Anyway, Knute is going to be moving with his older brother’s family (super nice and lovely people) soon to a new house until after chest surgery. They’ll be able to put down a damage deposit and rent on the house, and since his abuser is taking away the bicycle he uses (his only transportation), his vacuum cleaner, all of the dishes and other home necessities, he can now replace those things that will be taken from him during the move. Between us now with his paycheck (paycheque? lol canada) and the money I’ve been saving since February after buying my plane ticket, we’ll be okay to get safely to and from the hospital and the airport, and we’ll have enough food when we’re together.

Thank you all so, so much, and again, I know it’s slightly weird and kind of embarrassing to ask the internet for help but people are so kind and so generous and if anyone ever needs help or needs signal boosting in the future feel free to ask us!

edit: Also, I’ll probably be taking the page down sometime within the next two weeks but I just wanted to be honest with everyone about reaching the goal and the use of the money. Thank you!

Wow, thank you to everyone who has donated to my gofundme, I don’t even have enough words to express how grateful I am. I appreciate all of the help that has been extended to me, and to the most recent person to donate; thank you so much for your generosity and thank you to everyone who has reblogged and signal boosted my posts, I will not soon forget this. This greatly improves my situation and will help me with my recovery in the coming months. You guys rock my world ;u;

My wonderful boyfriend Knute (pictured on the right) has hit a challenging and complicated spot in his life. He's a transgender man living in Canada and his chest surgery is coming up soon in June. He is also disabled and struggles with several mental illnesses, including depression, ADHD and anxiety.

He lives in an abusive, unsafe environment that gets worse every day and will soon be too costly, both financially and emotionally, to continue living in, and fears the very real possibility of becoming homeless before he can even achieve his surgery. He is currently unable to find work until after his surgery due to being trans and disabled, as well as trying to finish school. As it is, he receives a very small amount of money from the government that barely covers his cost of living.
 While I (his girlfriend, Rae, on the left) am making money, I live in the US (we are long distance) and have to save more than 2/3rds of every paycheck I receive to be able to cover flying and traveling expenses to see him, as well as food and other necessities while I'm there. As it is, I'm the only person available to take care of him after chest surgery, so it's essential that I save my money to be there.
If he could raise 1000 Canadian, it would tide him over before chest surgery and help him to move to a safer location to rehabilitate in afterwards until he can go back to work. If we can raise money by mid-March, he can look for an apartment away from the abusive people he lives with and will exponentially improve his mental and physical health before surgery.
Obviously, it's not easy to be asking others for money, and it was not Knute's idea to start a campaign, but he desperately needs help. I am an artist in college working for my BFA in New Hampshire right now. I go to school full time and work 30 hours a week. For every donation above $15 I'll do a pencil or pen drawing of your choice (I don't have a lot of time to make really elaborate drawings, but I'm willing to draw whatever you want! Contact me after your donation for details). Thank you so much for even a signal boost, and to anyone who donates - thank you times a million!!

EDIT: So I also have these really neat tooth necklaces that I make by hand that I know a lot of people really like, so I'll say a $10 donation from this point on will get you a tooth necklace!
