It was a cold and windy evening Wednesday January 30th when Sarah walked into the kitchen to put on a big pot of potatoes to boil. Jeff was recovering from a broken rib as he rested on the couch in the living room. Sarah decided to join him in the relaxation. Just as they eased into a conversation there was a loud boom followed by a crashing sound. Panicking she ran into the kitchen only to see where she had stood moments before, a tree in her place. She heard another cracking sound coming from the bedroom area. Unfortunately the damage was all over the house. The only thing she could think of was to quickly gather the most important belongings and run for the car. Considering Sarah and Jeff are some of this Region's most talented musicians the first thing to go were all of their beloved instruments. Next were photographs, hard drives, and some of their personal belongings. Last but not least, she frantically tried to find the cat and dog. Finally the cat emerged from behind the washing machine. They were able to find shelter at Jeff's parents house temporarily.
Sarah and Jeff through the years have done so much to give back to the community and it is time for us to give back to them. She will be out of work during the transition period of figuring out what they are going to do. Luckily they did have Home Owners Insurance; however, there is a large deductible. Many of their household items were damaged in the process.
Let us join together and help these wonderful musicians, who grace us with their healing music and incredible character, get through this tragedy!
