A van for Conner

Hello, my name is Conner. The doctors have told me that I am a modern miracle as I am the longest survivor with my condition, Trisomy One. When my parents found out I had this rare condition, they were told to abort me, and some of you may agree that they should have, but I have the same rights to life as you do, don’t I? After I was born, my parents were told I wouldn’t live to be a year old, but here I am, beating all odds and I just had my 7th birthday. I don’t have a lot of things in life. I can’t walk, I don’t talk very well and I have to be fed by a tube in my stomach, but what I do have far outweighs the bad. My smile lights up a room. My laugh warms your heart. My eyes bring peace and comfort and being around me calms you. Or so I have been told.
Since I have exceeded all of the doctor’s expectations, my parents just ordered a brand new wheelchair for me. I outgrew the one I had. Well, when that one comes in, it will no longer fit in the van we have. Our van is always breaking down anyways. It leaks oil, and was flooded by the storm last summer and the insurance company chose to fix it instead of totaling it out. So, we need a new one and that’s why my mommy set up this website. My mommy is in school to do better at her job and my daddy works very hard at his job, too. They are trying everything they can on their own, but it just isn’t enough. That’s why we are asking all of you nice people. If you have an extra dollar or two and can contribute to helping me get a new van, please help us. If you don’t, we understand.
