Dear Friends, Family, Colleagues and all Good-Hearted Citizens:

Our entire country has been terribly affected by the senseless violence that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on December 14. For those of us in Connecticut, this is has hit way too close to home.  But the families who have lost a loved one are enduring grief that we could not possibly imagine.

The inspiring leaders and employees that work for the Newtown Board of Education and Town of Newtown have been faithful Aflac policy holders for over 10 years.  For that, the Aflac Connecticut Field Force is extremely grateful. The citizens, employees and families of Newtown, CT will live in our collective hearts and prayers during these trying times.

To honor those directly affected by this tragedy, the Aflac CT State Office is coordinating a drive to raise as much money as possible for the families that lost a loved one.

Aflac, Inc. has a long-standing history of raising money for worthy causes. These include, but are not limited to, fighting childhood cancer, helping 9/11 victims and the tsunami that struck Japan in 2011.

I know that the Aflac Field Force, along with our friends and families can pull together to assist those during what should be a joyous season.

After sharing with many of you that my daughter attends Head O' Meadow Elementary School in Newtown, some of you asked how you can help.

Here's how:  Make a donation of any amount you can through this secure website. After January 7, we will reach out to town and school officials, and members of the Newtown PTO to discuss where the money is most needed.

Whether it goes towards a memorial, a scholarship fund, or directly to those families in need, Christmas is less than a week away.  We need to start now! You can be assured that your contribution will stay in Newtown to help with the healing process.

Thank you so much in advance for your thoughtful and generous contributions.

p.s. Please be sure to forward this link and post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

Warmest Regards,
