I want to take a moment...
I want to take a moment and say how grateful my family is to each and everyone of you!
I never thought that so many friends, family and strangers would open there hearts so generously!
My family wishes it was for a better outcome, however with all the help we did everything we could for Zeus and that feels good!
We want to say that all of you have been our christmas miracle, and have brought the true feeling of giving into our lives!
Zeus is missed, he was a bestfriend, a pillow, a warm blanket, and a sidekick and we feel broken, but he is an angel now and god only takes the good ones from us!
With all your generosity I was able to pay the vet bills in full, and I can not express how grateful I am for your help, I know this time of year is hard for everyone, but you opened your hearts to me and my children, the kindness shown will never be forgotten!
I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season!

Tonight December 12, 2012 at approx. 8 pm my family dog Zeus
a rescued Golden Retriever, only 3 years old, had escaped off his chain, I dont
even know how I have a secure chain. Both my children and I ran after him,
trying to catch him, when he was hit by a cab driver who works for Satellite
Taxi in Lower Sackville Cab # 238. Zeus went right under the car. The cab
driver DIDNT even stop, he saw my children and myself looking and calling to
the dog! he ran over Zeus right in front of us, and drove off!
I then rushed Zeus to the emerg. vet clinic in Dartmouth,
were they have assessed he will need surgery on his jaw, as his gums have been
torn and his k-9 tooth is damaged, he needs x-rays and much more vet care!
I am asking anyone out of the kindness of their hearts
please help us save our wonderful family dog! My kids and I would be forever
grateful in any generosity you can spare this time of year!
I have also contacted the RCMP as the driver did fail to
remain at the scene of an accident and he caused unnecessary suffering to an
animal and needs to be brought to justice!
Thank you in advance, Lyndsay and children

Heart wrenching! Thinking of you all. Thinking how lucky he was to have been rescued by someone that loved him so much, even though a short time with your family.

I'm so sorry to hear that he didn't make it. I know how hard it is to lose a furry member of your family. :(

Baloney he didn't know. Retrievers are not small dogs. I have one, he weighs almost 100lbs. He had to have noticed. Too ignorant to stop. Not that it surprises me cabbies are the most ignorant drivers on the roads.

Well the thing with the cab driver is where he was off his chain the cab hit him, and he said to RCMP he didn't know he hit anything therefore the police cannot prove anything of fleeing a scene, and on top of that, if the car has damages the cab driver can charge my sister for the damages. Some people just are horrible beings, and will not do the right thing. How could you not know you hit a big dog, and people chasing you. Come on!!!!

My sincere condolences to Lyndsay and her kids....such terrible news. I am hoping that somehow the taxi driver is brought to justice for this cowardly act. I am so very sorry for your loss. RIP, sweet Zeus :'(

I am Lyndsay's siser, and it is with a heavy heart I announce that Zeus has died while in surgery. It is a sad time for all our family as he was very loved. We did everything we could, even to the point of moving vets 3 times to go to a specialist. We saw him before he went into surgery and his tail wagged to see us, we gave him all lots of kisses and hugs. Please if you like post your condolences to my sister and two kids. And thank you to anyone and everyone who helped during this difficult time and especially this time of year. Our family cannot thank you all enough, you were all truly his guardian angels! xo
