OK we've heard all the bad news in Conn. and yet right here one of our own needs help. Lets see if all that has been said in the last several days is backed up with the walk and not just the talk.

We are all devastated by hearing such saddening news...Riley we know you are a fighter and are constantly fasting and praying for your full recovery! To Rick and Gina and Family: "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

Riley update! As of last night Riley was still having a lot of pain. Her swallowing is weak so she is only able to take a few sips of water and a tiny bit of jello. She is still only able to whisper. All this is excruciatingly difficult for Rick and Gina to witness. They of course have never left her bedside for over a week now. Please direct your prayers in their direction as well as Riley's. They are being very strong and brave. We are all doing our very best to stay in the moment and not allow our minds to create ugly stories. Good news: Dr. Gupta, the surgeon, says that the preliminary pathology slides are indicating that Riley's tumor may be in the lower risk category. Let's hold THAT thought! We should have the final pathology report late today. We will still need to wait for the results of a lumbar puncture that will be done two weeks after surgery. That will provide the final markers to determine her ultimate diagnosis. I'm posting a new photo that came today from Riley's friend Malery. Her mom says she's been carrying the picture in the front of her homework folder all week. Riley emanates and attracts such sweetness! Last night and today were very difficult. Riley spiked a fever and they had to do blood cultures. Pain is still not under control, so they are considering a new protocol, thank goodness. Her swallowing is inadequate and so they are probably going to insert a feeding tube. I wish I had some good news, but I want to give you the straight information so you can redouble your prayers. She is still not able to talk, so they are relying on sign language and pointing to pictures. Lots of tears. It's so hard to imagine Riley like this. Such a bright light and sweet spirit.
