We have created a brand new FREE
program to help kids 5-15 yrs old get active in sports through the appropriate stages. Our main target group is at-risk youth and youth from families struggling through financial difficulties but is also open to anyone interested.
Funds raised will help us to pay for locations to hold classes; buy necessary equipment; train instructors in CPR, First Aid, Sports Safety & Coaching Youth Sports; and will help to keep this program free to participants.
Our Youth Sports Introduction & Development Program is designed to properly introduce youth to various types of sports in an effort to: appropriately develop
and advance basic motor skills; learn and reinforce proper sport fundamentals; learn how to properly play in a competitive
environment; and provide them with long-term,
athletic-development and life skills.
It is of critical importance that when children get active in sports or other physical activity that they do so properly and in appropriate stages. It is important that we not "rush" or "force" our children into
playing sports too fast.
The program also is geared to help parents and coaches become better sports role models. Parents get various instruction on positive sports, nutrition and more while Coaches can go through a certification program and become an instructor while their child is in the program.
