We have created the scholarship! The first scholarship at Delta College was awarded this year to Jenna Jaskiewicz. We have created the scholarship memorial and can donate anytime to this to create more scholarships. We have a goal for this summer and it is to raise $1,000 to award 2 more students a scholarship in memory of David. Thank you all so much for your contributions, thoughts and also sharing memories of David!
David Premo, 22, died from injuries sustained in a crash while he was driving from a work-study program at Dow Chemical in Midland to Saginaw Valley State University, where he planned to meet a friend to study on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Cynthia Peck at the Delta College Foundation Program is gathering donations for a memorial bench to be installed at Delta College in memory of Premo.
"It will be seating in the hallway for Delta students waiting to go into chemistry classes," Peck said, remembering how Premo would sit outside her classroom on the floor before class.
She said the bench will be engraved and might include a photo or a plaque engraved with the years Premo attended. It will serve as a gathering place for students, she said.
She hopes to gather enough donations to build the bench by Nov. 15
