Help Our Algiers Point Neighbors Who've Lost Everything

Donation protected

A Marine Corps family (husband and wife serve in Corps) lost everything yesterday in a devastating fire on Atlantic. The wife is expecting their second child this month (a boy) and they have a one year old girl. We are seeking donations of baby cloths and toddler size clothing and diapers, as well as, household items that they could use. The one year old is in size 18 mos. and newborn could use newborn and larger clothing.

Kupcakes, Etc. has agreed to be a convenient drop off point for donations. Please drop off donations starting Tuesday, Oct. 2 to Friday from 7 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Monetary donations will be accepted via this secure site.  I am a Sgt in the United States Marine Corps, and will ensure that every dime received on this site (besides the site charge) will get to our down of luck neighbors.  The fire was reinvestigated today and has been ruled an arson.  Some lowlife broke into their home while they were away visiting family, stole valuable items, and then lit the remainder of their house on fire.  Please consider helping this young family in their time of need.

Respectfully,

Sgt Karen A Holliday, USMC
