Help bring Simone home

We have always said that the only way we would adopt again is if one of our sons' birthmothers got pregnant and asked for us to take the baby. 

Two weeks ago, we received a call from our adoption agency. Rowan's birthmother is pregnant and wants us to be the little girl's parents. Our first reaction was a thrill of hope and joy; unfortunately, that was smothered by a feeling of hopelessness at being able to cover the expenses. We prayed and talked and felt daunted by the weight of the adoption fees that stand between us and our little girl. 

As we spoke to friends and family, we were surprised by how many people urged us not to give up. Many expressed the belief that God has brought us this baby. A dear friend gifted us with the words, "If God brings you to it, God will bring you through it." 

We have to raise the full amount before the agency will allow us to contract with our birthmother. We have already raised about $5000. Two weeks ago, we never would have guessed that we would experience such love for a baby girl. Simone is due on October 25th, but she delivered Rowan 9 days early. My heart aches to hold my daughter. I have always wanted a daughter, but assumed that it wasn't in God's plans. 

From the Mouths of Babes.... 

About four weeks ago, Travis and Rowan came into our bedroom at 6 a.m. and woke us up. Travis was the elected spokesman of the group and sat on me and bounced until we both woke up. They smiled and giggled and said, "Mommy, Daddy, we want you to go get our baby sister." I smiled my "I'm not actually awake smile" and said, "Well honey, we are not planning on adopting another baby. God has blessed us with two beautiful children and we are very blessed." Travis didn't miss a beat and said, "God didn't give us to you, the hospital gave us to you. Now go to the hospital and get our baby sister!" Little did we know. 

We know that God did, in fact, give us our beautiful children and we will forever be grateful. We truly believe that God is at work in the adoption of baby Simone.
