My English/Drama Teaching Career

Donation protected

My further and higher education is as follows:
2001 - AS Level English Literature
2002 - BTEC in Performance Art
2004 - HND in Theatre Studies

In 2006 I graduated with a 2.1 in Professional Writing. I wanted to become a teacher but was required to have a C grade or above in GCSE Maths. I enquired about doing a equivalent to which they told me I could with a Numeracy Level 2 qualification which, after 6 months, I achieved. I went back to the college and was told they were no longer accepting this equivalent which frustrated me and I gave up on the idea of teaching. For the next five years I settled in to catering employment and have always felt bored, depressed and lonely in this.

I have decided to change my life for the better. I will take my Maths GCSE once and for all, learn how to drive (where I live is a big county and it would increase my employment potential). I plan to apply for a PGCE in secondary education to teach English and Drama in September 2013.

In the next year I am going to volunteer at secondary schools to gain classroom experience, get my Maths GCSE and learn how to drive.

All this I have estimated to cost around £10,000. I am going to apply for grants, bursaries and loans if I succeed in obtaining any of these I will subtract this from the total amount I'm asking for on this page.

I will also document my journey through my YouTube channel so you can see me for yourself.
