I wanted to commend all of you for your continued support and for helping Megan's legacy live on. I have been thinking heavy about different ways to do so and I am open to any ideas. I would like to thank you in advance for any ideas you provide and please know that you all are like extended family.
Hello to all of Megan's soldiers. I honestly never imagined having to come to all of you with such heartbreaking news but unfortunately this is the reality that Megan's family and I are faced with. Megan passed away this afternoon. We are so touched by all of you who chose to take the time to care for her. I can not explain how much it meant to Megan to have so many people in the world reach out and become so invested in her journey. I remember her eyes getting SO big when we would tell her how many people were praying for her. The greatest impact that we all had on her was the simple fact that we genuinely cared. I know that she will always be aware of the impact she also had on all of us. The last time I saw Megan awake I spoke with her about how many lives she had touched and how many more she was going to. Often we do not understand why the ones we love are taken from us but when we try to imagine if it were us that was being taken to heaven we might then ask what we did to make a difference in the world. Megan has made a difference and will continue to through all of us. Please carry her journey with you and share it with your family, friends and co-workers. Let us learn that no matter how hard life is we can still leave our positive imprint in the world. Megan's imprint is one that will forever be left on all of our hearts.
Before the support of thousands of strangers Megan had the beautiful support of her family and what I witnessed between her mother and her was simply precious. Megan's eyes were so expressive and the expression she often gave to her mother was one that said, "I adore you, I love you, and I need you." Teresa selflessly checked her own emotions at the door and did whatever Megan asked her to. She is a true example of a loving mother and I admire her so much. I know that the time they had together was a gift directly from God. Please pray for Megan's family to have peace and strength and know that we are all eternally greatful for your loving support.
Bracelets for Megan's boys-
I still have 257 bracelets that Johnson and Johnson donated to benefit Megan and I would like to sell the rest of them and put the funds into a trust for Megan's sons. The bracelets are still $5 and you can email me at Audreymay83@yahoo.com with your physical address after you make your donation and I will gladly send them to you. The other funds will be used for Megan's funeral, for family to attend her funeral ,and for her two precious boys.
Update on Megan:
Megan's journey has taken a left turn after traveling right. I do not feel comfortable saying much but please know that the fact that all of you took the time to care for Megan means so much to Megan, me and her family. Her mother is back in Florida as well as her Maw Maw to be with her. Please keep Megan and her family in your prayers. XOXO
I am so excited! I was able to see Megan today and she made my day. We took a trip in our minds to the Bahamas because she was cold and once I mentioned the sun and the sand in between her toes she was warm again. I asked her if there were hot guys walking the beach and we both agreed there were. Guided imagery works wonders! I love her so much.
I really want to thank everyone who helped with the benefit and everyone who came out to spend their hard earned money.-Audrey
Should be depositing the money from the benefit this week. I truly want to thank everyone who was involved and even supported from a far. Megan is doing well and is awake again. Her Mom will be leaving this week so I will be visiting with her much more frequently. Please keep her in your prayers. I will be praying specifically for strength and for her to find her inner independence as she embarks on the next stage of her tremendous journey. She will be making leaps and bounds very quickly almost like a baby who starts walking and talking all of a sudden.

I apologize for the lack of updates this week. I have been very busy with school, family, and Megan's Fundraiser. Megan is doing well. She has started daily showers on a special bed. I recall one of these and it was a very weird experience because of the medicine they give you that makes you feel like you are having an outer body experience. Megan's next surgery is scheduled for October 11th. They will place her skin that they grew in a lab and she will spend a week in a medical induced coma in order for the skin to take the way they need it to. Please keep her in your prayers and I thank you for all of the support. -Audrey
It is week 8 for Megan. She has come a long way and the communities have really come together as well as the prayer warriors. I have listed below a P.O. Box that I set up for Megan for people to send cards to her. I also have the bracelets listed below. If you would like a bracelet please kindly make a $5 donation and I will gladly send you one in the mail.
UPDATE ON MEGAN:
She sat up for the first time yesterday and we are so proud of her. I will be making a surprise visit to day and I will post more tomorrow on how that went.
BIG Shout out to the city of Pahrump, Nevada for taking Megan into their hearts and donating for her car wash benefit. Thank you Alisa and Stefanie for making it happen! When we work together major miracles can happen. $2,600.00 WOW!!!!
Update on Megan:
I was able to see Megan on Monday for a surprise visit. I was so excited to enter the room and find her Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed!!! We chatted almost the entire time I was there. We even shared a dance. Megan danced with her head and her eyes and I jammed right beside her bed. Megan and I share the same occupational therapist (Danny), he came in to put her splints on and what surprised me was that Megan lifted her arms up for Danny to put her splints on. I know this seems very small but you all have no idea how major this is. There is no doubt in my mind that Megan will continue to amaze us all. She is our inspiration.
Update on Megan:
She is doing well and slept a lot yesterday. While visiting with her I noticed her dreaming. I can not help but wonder what it is that consumes her dreams and if they are anything like mine were. Perhaps it will be very soon when we will share our stories? Just as I was going to leave Megan's eyes popped right open. I was able to tell her goodbye and pray over her. God is working so many miracles on Megan! I trust him with her and I hope all of you do as well.
Update on Bracelets:
If you would like one of the purple bracelets that Johnson and Johnson sent us, then please make a $5 donation and I will glady send you one. They read,
No Excuse! Stop the Abuse! I am eternally greatful for your prayers and support.
Hello Everyone! It's Audrey here. I have wonderful news. I was able to set up the P.O. Box for Megan today. If you would like to send a card or a small package you finally can! ;) I know she will love the cards. I have a few instructions before I give you the information so PLEASE read. Thank you once again for your beloved prayers, thoughts, donations, and for caring. I am eternally greatful.
Most important: DO NOT send ANY cash, check, or money orders to this box. If you wish to donate please go to the gofundme account that I set up for her. We need all money to be accounted for and that's why I set up the account for her.
Second most important: The P.O. Box is set up in my name because Megan is not able to set up one with her drivers license on her own, due to her being in the hospital. You MUST put Audrey Mabrey on it. However you can put Megan Kimbrough at the top and then put in care of Audrey Mabrey.

Update on Megan: Megan is showing early signs of ICU psychosis from the meds and from being in there so long. She also has another infection. Can you please pray for God to keep control of her mind and spirit and to also take all of Te toxins from her body. Thank you.
Update on Megan: I was able to see her today and she was in some pain. She is really such a character though. I can't really describe how awesome this woman is. Update on Megan: She is completely off of the ventilator and doing well. She is so positive but very anxious. Megan is looking forward to having her trache removed soon so she can chat away. She admits to being a chatter box. This woman is so special and a true reflection of perseverance!
When I heard of your story from a dear friend of mine I knew I had to help. I wanted to run to your bedside and tell you that IT GET'S BETTER! I later heard God whisper to me that he wanted me to raise money for you, so I just followed. I have been able to be by your bedside and I am so blown away by you. Megan your understanding of what has happened to you is so profound. I can't say that I was that understanding so soon after my attack. You've got me beat by a few months. People have been praying for you, including me and the prayers are working. Not only are you strong but you have opened your heart to God and what he wants for you. You understand that this recovery is a very difficult process but somehow you can still say, God gave you a do over. To recognize that he saved your life to give you another chance at it is PROFOUND. Megan I can promise you that you have and are going to change so many people's lives. All you have to do is allow God to speak through you. There will be bad days when you are frustrated and impatient but you just have to ask yourself where the lesson is? Every struggle in life is put there not to hurt but to TEACH! I remember when I couldn't drive, feed myself, brush my teeth, or even care for my kids but boy do I look back and appreciate all that those lessons have taught me. I pray for God to continue to touch your heart and minister to your spirit. Let him guide you Megan, into a life that you will cherish for all of eternity! I love you and I thank God for everything he has and will do for you.
Big shout out to Kindercare and Johnson and Johnson for sponsoring the bouncy houses and the domestic violence awareness bracelets for Megan's event. Thank you to Megan's mom and Megan's best friend for reaching out, you all rock!!!!!
Megan's needs: A burn injury is so difficult to overcome and the recovery process is extremely long. Megan will have extensive medical bills, not just now but later as well. As a burn survivor I can tell you that I still need around 20 more surgeries. These are covered only partially by my Medicare. They cover 80% and I must cover the rest. Outside of just that, she has needs for creams, gauze, medicine, vitamins, special diet, clothing, relocation, flights to the reconstructive burn center, hotel while she is there, physical, mental, and occupational therapy, and much more. I thank you so much for all of your donations and support. Giving is a beautiful thing for you and the one you're giving to. -Audrey
Update on Megan from today: She was awake and very chatty. I called her a chatter box. She thought that was funny and true. I asked her today how she was feeling and she said, "GOOD". Whoo Hoo!!! That made my day. I spent some time brushing her hair per her request and boy did she love it. Megan is simply amazing! XOXO
Update on Megan: She got a lot of rest today. Her Mom told her how many were praying for her and her eyebrows went up. She seemed to be shocked by that. Your prayers are so amazing and most importantly they are working. I pray that God may bless everyone of you for taking the time to pray for Megan! Please pray for her strength and peace and that she will come through this with much wisdom and understanding. Megan I am your sister in this and I am committed to you forever!
Update on Fund: Please know that this fund was started by me and is run by me. When this very same thing happened to me the community reached out to help me and I not only SURVIVED but THRIVED because of their prayers and support. This money is for Megan and the public can see how much money has been raised to prevent my integrity from being questioned. I am an advocate, this is why God spared my life, so that he could use me to help others. It is the greatest honor!
I saw Megan today! She is... She is... I can't even describe it! Megan is strong, Megan is funny, Megan is faithful, she is so easy to love, she is IMPATIENT! Megan is no longer in an induced coma and is VERY alert when she is awake. She responds to everything you ask her or say to her with her eyes wide open and a nod of her head. She even talks. Not sure if everyone is aware but I went through the same thing as her. I was set on fire by my husband in 2009 and suffered from burns over 80% of my body. I say this so everyone understands that I KNOW EXACTLY what she is going through. Although Megan has a tracheotomy, she is still able to talk; however a trach sits on top of your vocal cords so the level of sound that comes out is close to none but I am getting better and better at reading lips. It was heart breaking today when she said she wanted to go now. She also said she wanted to go home with her Mom! OMG, that ripped my heart right out of her Mom's chest! (Teresa) Megan looked incredibly good today. The entire center of her face has changed from red and yellow to white again. Amazing signs! Your prayers are WORKING! Keep it up because you all are prayer warriors! Xoxo Audrey Mabrey
Just a note: Once Megan is able to make decisions on her own (once she can talk) she will determine what she needs to do with the fund. I as the administrator will not take any funds out of this account. The public can see how much has been donated which keeps any questions of integrity answered. These are Megan's blessing from the generous hearts of everyone who is donating. Thank you for your support and your prayers! We are all eternally grateful.
Update: Megan is still fighting an infection but otherwise staying strong and doing well. As a burn survivor I can tell you that infections are very common with this type of injury. She will pull through. Every time I think of Megan one phrase comes to mind, I BELIEVE! She looks better and better everytime I see her.
I was looking at the amount of people who have visited this page. It's 15, 830. I couldn't help but think that if everyone of them donated a single dollar that Megan would have $15,830. I encourage you to encourage your friends to donate just $5 today and see how far this can go. This site won't allow you to donate less than that. I promise you that she is going to need every dime of it as I did when this all happened to me. It is because of the generosity of the community that I NOT ONLY survived, but thrived!!! Thank you for all of your generosity and your continued prayers!!! XOXO- Audrey
There is a Pray for Megan page on Facebook with daily updates on Megan. There is also a website for her. www.megansoutreach26.org Along with the website, you can make an ecard for her and send it to email@example.com Thank you for all of you prayers and support. It is so important for us to support one another when devastation strikes. She will be eternally greatful to all of you. Her entire family is so appreciative as well.
I was able to see Megan today. She looks better and better every time I see her beautiful eyes! Thank you again for all of your support. This is a long journey that we are all on with Megan and your support with help her in more ways than you will ever know!
OAS able to see Megan today. She remembered me at smiled at me with her eyes. The color of her skin was a lot brighter and she just looked a lot healthier. She got tired after a dose of medicine so I spent a lot of time rubbing her head and hair. Thank you again for all of your support and prayers. I most appreciate everyone stepping up to care about a cause (Domestic Violence) that most won't talk about. You are all so special!
I really want to thank everyone for leaving their comments and donating whatever they can. Any gift is a big one and I truly mean that! This proves that we can all work together to make a difference. I'm so proud of all of you. If you can't donate don't beat yourself up about or feel bad. Be led by God's conviction. Just pray! That is the greatest gift you can give to anyone!
I had the honor of meeting Megan today. She responded to everything I asked her with her eyes open and nodding her head. I asked her at one point if she could wiggle her toes and immediately she did. Wow!!! At one point I got an overwhelming feeling of FUNNY. So I asked her if she is a funny girl and she looked at me and nodded her head up and down. I also asked her if she knew that he is amazing and she did the same thing. She made my day!
I will be going to visit and meet Megan tomorrow. She is scheduled to have surgery in the morning and then I will see her. I will update everyone on how it went. There is also a Facebook page for her called Pray for Megan with lots of updates from her father.
On August 3rd Megan's husband attempted to murder her by setting her on fire. Megan has burns that cover 80% of her body at the young age of only 26. She will face many challenges on her road to recovery. She will have many medical bills to pay as she will endure years of countless surgeries. She also will need money for everyday necessities due to her being unable to work. Please support Megan and let her know that the community cares.
