Brick by Brick: Building the Memories of Taylor School with the History of Hamilton as it's mortar.
History is an amazing thing. It's a giant puzzle. Each person holds at least one piece to a part of history. Whether it's their own families history or the history of someone else's, they often don't know where to start putting the puzzle together.
Some people let the history of their ancestors go to the graves with them. They let so many stories and experiences become forgotten. Many people's memories disappear like an important trinket left under an old floor board. The only way to find that memory is if someone peels back the old board and exposes it. Then they uncover the lives and stories from that moment in time. That is what we are trying to do with this project. We want to lift up the old floor boards and expose the history of Hamilton.
Think about it...how many times have you driven by Taylor School and not payed it any attention? If your like many people that live in the area, you may think it's an old eye sore. This project was inspired by the many people that take a moment to look at the school when they pass it and remember the days when they or a family member attended.
I've saw this building every day while looking out my back window as a teenager. After I got married I moved to a home on Brough Avenue. While renovating the kitchen I found a piece of paper from Taylor School. This ignited a spark in me to find out more about this abandoned school that I pass by very day.
After many years of paranormal investigating and being a historical buff, I brought on my friend and fellow paranormal investigator Brady. We decided to accept the adventure and to look into the history of the school and the town that we both came from.
Being part of a small paranormal group has helped us learn a thing or two about history and how to respect it. Through the seven years that our team has been together, we have explored buildings and homes throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. This interest that we had in Taylor School was just the beginning of what Hamilton's history has to offer to its residents. The walls of the many old buildings of Hamilton have so many stories to tell. They just need someone to listen.
That's why this project is so important to us. As a local paranormal team we want to really tell the story of our hometown. We want people to see all the history Hamilton has to offer. So please help us out by donating to our campaign. With your help we can explore the history and stories of the old Taylor School. Giving it's walls a chance to talk before the building is left behind like another memory covered by an old floorboard.
All donations will go towards the cost of filming and creating DVD's of the Documentary. All donors will receive a copy of the Documentary. Thank you for your time and your support!
