Thats right - this is Mission “IM Possible” after my FFS Consultation with the price quote of $35,100 - I left feeling Defeated and Discouraged and I looked in the mirror and thought... this is IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Imagine, the cost for one surgery is more than I make in ONE YEAR.
Asking for help is difficult, my entire life has been dedicated to Helping others as a child through church, and as an Adult for the last 16 year giving my all to my LGBT Community here in South Florida - but also through the world wide web on youtube. Offering advice and makeup tips etc. Growing up in the Ministry I was taught - WE HELP others but WE DO NOT ASK FOR HELP, and that is how I have lived my entire life so far. Id give the shirt of my back if you were cold but I would not ask for one if I was cold.
UGH.... that being said I am in a predicament, I am not comfotable in my own skin. YES - I have the blessing of feeling comfortable or safe within the walls of broward county here in south florida, where a majority of our population is both Cultured and educated. Before I transitioned to living Full Time, I used to be surprised by how often I was properly Gendered as female in public. But now that I have transitioned into being fem full time, I am surprised at how OFTEN I have suffered the embarrassment of being misgendered in public on a pretty regular basis. I cannot explain how Painful and Embarrassing this is. Which of course leaves me feeling humiliated and hurt. Honestly i’m often terrified, and fear for my life especially when I leave Fort Lauderdale. Even here in South FL as an UBER Driver many of my Passengers call me sir, or he/him etc. (yes that is with a dress on, with light makeup on and with a breast implant) This Scares me!!!!
Recently, In conversations with others both privately and through interviews publicly as well as on my youtube channel I talk about how the next Gender Confirming Surgery i will be persuing is FFS. I then joke that ONEDAY I will set up a GOFUNDME page. Well, maybe SOMEDAY…… but then I woke up and realized there are 7 days in the week and SOMEDAY is NOT one of them.
This is not something I want, This is something I need, so After MONTHS of deliberation, I am now humbling myself and asking for YOUR help, as I seek out this Life Changing Surgery, on my Gender Transition Journey. YES I said I NEED THIS, that is why I am calling on the help of friends and strangers alike, to help me in becoming my true self. The reality is not every Trans Woman needs FFS, in fact every woman’s journey is different. Some trans people don't even want any surgeries at all, especially the girls that start their Hormone Replacement Therapy close to or before puberty.
WHAT IS FFS = Facial Feminization Surgery. Is a surgery that reshapes the Face from Masculine Features and proportions into Feminine ones. This helps trick the naked eye into seeing female or feminine traits. Men and Women have very different shadows, and as humans we can quickly tell in fractions of a second that the figure we are looking at is Male or Female. A good Surgeon will make you look like yourself - just a female version of yourself. Softer and more Feminine - often like your Genetic Twin Sister might look.
How we appear to the world around us is important and I am just seeking out to align my outside woman with my inside woman. To be honest this surgery is a vital step both in my transition but also for my safety as a functioning member of society. I have known I was transgender for my entire life, and growing up and living with a body that does not matched how you truly feel inside its difficult. Imagine living in a world that constantly sees you for something you know you are not, and being harshly criticized or ridiculed for something you can't control. This is me doing what I can to be a Better ME. To be Honest with you as an ON Stage persona - I do feel that I am beautiful and I love myself. But blending into everyday life the reality is im a 6’1 woman with Manly frame and features, and well honestly Im trying to prevent being a victim of a Hate crime.
For those of you that do not know me my name is Misty Eyez. I am a Friend, a Lover, a Sister, an Aunt, a Daughter, a Drag Mother, a Mentor, an Advocate, a Leader, a Drag Queen, an Entertainer, a Hostess, a Role Model and a Male to Female Trans Woman. I live in Fort Lauderdale, and I have slowly been transitioning since the year 2005. My original plan was to do FFS FIRST and then have all the other Gender Confirming surgeries after that, but due to the price it is now basically one of my last surgeries. And the only one I need to ask for help with. I have already had some body work. My Hips and Butt are finished. My full body Laser Hair removal is 90% finished. Ive had my breast implant and I have been on hormone replacement therapy for 5+ years.
