God Is Raising Devoted Ladies for Excellence

GIRDLE is incorporated as a nonprofit Christian organization (501c3 is pending).  We use old school morals,  manners, etiquette, and the word of God to support and shape young women through support groups, weekend retreats, workshops, life skill classes, and mentoring.  We recognized that young ladies today are thrusting themselves into maturity way too soon which has resulted in damage to their self-esteem, damage to their self-worth, and damage to their bodies.  So now we have a generation that is under developed and dying.  These young ladies need help in transitioning from childhood into an adult role.   Some young ladies are carrying wounds of abuse, rejection, and lack of guidance.  They don't need a band-aid they need nurturing, guidance, and old school teaching so that they can be of the renewed generation from which God Is Raising Devoted Ladies for Excellence.

On March 15, 2014 we held our first Chat and Chew (support group) of 2014.  Our topic was Increasing Self-esteem.  Thirty-five women came out to be encouraged.  Our plans are to implement programs/classes at Grace Center of Hope in April, Bowen's Center in September, and Walton Park Manor YAPO Center (TBD).  However, the Shelter and Center don't have funds to support these programs, which are free or low cost to the participants.

You can help by sponsoring one or more of these programs.  The purpose of all of GIRDLE's programs is to educate, inspire, encourage self-improvement, and teach life skills while giving support to teenage girls and women.  There is an African Proverb that states, "When you teach a man, you teach one. When you teach a woman you teach a tribe".  We need your support to teach "a tribe" called Oakland County.
